Yummy Gummies

Yummy Gummies

Easy peasy delicious and nutritious real food "candy"

1/2 cup Frozen Fruit Juice Concentrate (defrosted)
3 Tbsp plain unsweetened Gelatin

Put the juice concentrate in a small saucepan
Whisk in the gelatin
Put the juice and gelatin over medium-low heat
Stir and gently heat until the gelatin is dissolved
Spoon into molds (we have silicon fun-shape mini-ice molds)
(or chill in a pan and cut into pieces when set)
Refrigerate until good and cold
Unmold, store in the fridge in an airtight container
They will keep their shape unrefrigerated and travel well

I made a batch with frozen lemonade concentrate, because I had it; the children loved them but of course they had added sugar, however you can make lemon or gummies with freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice and honey like Mommypotamus does for her Sour Gummy Stars
Use any fruit juice concentrate you like!
You know just what you put these Yummy Gummies and can make sure there are no added sugars or other undesirables. For the healthiest treats, use the healthiest frozen fruit juice concentrate you can afford - !00% juice, organic, whatever meets your standards - any juice or combination that you like will work! Regular strength fruit juice would work but make weak-flavored gummies.

For really tart and perhaps slightly more healthful Yummy Gummies, before popping the finished gummies into their container, sprinkle them with a teaspooon of Vitamin C Crystals and toss to coat thoroughly.
